About the Author
Andy Harris grew up in a time when almost all programs are self-taught. He taught himself to program because it was fun. Enjoyed the act of creation. He was surprised that the logic was the most fascinating construction toy of them all. Many years later, his attitude about the programming is basically the same. Andy loves the computer, but I like teaching. His first degree was in special education, and taught young adults with severe cognitive disabilities and behavior for several years. During this time, also worked as a freelance programmer and teaches computer classes part time. Andy has taught computer science full time at IUPUI for 12 years. He was originally hired to manage non-core courses. He has created numerous courses in many programming languages, created and distributed an educational laboratory for the creation of means of course content. Now teach entry-level first course for CS major, and several other courses, especially in game programming and web development. Andy has taught courses in almost all major programming languages and a few darker. He is dedicated to the technology community, with regular lectures and conferences and consultation with libraries, museums, and the state of Indiana.
